The fourth edition of Vinterveko was a great success and we would like to thank all of you who worked hard and helped us out!

The festival started Friday with qualification in Voss Freeride, which is a part of the Norwegian Freeride Cup . Despite challenging snow conditions, the organizing committee is very pleased with the competition. Good skiing, few accidents and beautiful weather summed up day one.

The final, which was supposed to be held on Saturday, was unfortunately cancelled due to challenging snow and weather conditions. Considering the conditions, we are very happy to accomplish parts of the event, especially since Sogndal and Hemsedal have cancelled their competitions.

Saturday we held vestlandsmeisterskap in big air, which roughly translates into the Western Norway Championship in big air. The spectators were enjoying spectacular jumps over bleating wild sheep from 50 sun beds in Myrkdalen. – Voss is the sheep head destination, thus when we chose an element for the athletes to jump over, sheep ended up as a natural choice for us, says Linda Risanger, who was in charge of the competition.

In the men elite category Sig Tveit was leading after the qualifying round, with Stian Eriksen and Klaus Finne close behind. However, Klaus Finne sealed his win with a spectacular jump in the final. Sig Tveit and Stian Eriksen came second and third. In the women elite category , the one and only Siri Finne competed and impressed the guys with her tricks.

The juniors impressed us and showed some great talent by flying high in the air at ease. Vegard Vinje won the competition, with Borgar Bystøl, Bendik Mossefinn Grande and Marius Grevle Vik in second, third and fourth place.

On Saturday, 21 eager speedriders gathered by Fennestølane for a unique and fun competition. The athletes filmed each other while flying down a mountain side. They gave points to each other after the competition from the video footage and judged a winner among themselves. Kenneth Klette won the competition, with Morten Knapstad and Endre Tesdal close behind.

In addition to the competitions we hosted social ski tours, avalanche courses, rail jam, Today´s Video and a great concert with The Soul Express Orchestra and DJ Lillevenn.
